Grubbly Farms is a natural feed company for chickens, specializing in grubs that are farm-grown and packaged in the United States under USDA regulations. Loaded with protein, Grubblies (their signature product) promote healthy feather production and speed up molting to allow hens to regain normal levels of energy and egg output.

Summary

Grubbly Farms is a company built on a quality product that’s eco-friendly and dedicated to sustainability. As their business grew, Grubbly Farms migrated to Shopify to create a new, more robust storefront for customers. During this transition, they were looking for a subscription billing provider that could meet their needs for integrations with an accessible API. After reviewing a number of solutions, the developer team recommended ReCharge—and since migrating thousands of customers to the new platform, they’re already seeing success.

Challenge

When the team at Grubbly Farms started to transition from their old ecommerce platform, FoxyCart, to a new one with Shopify, they knew they needed to find a new, reliable subscription billing tool. They were looking for a solution that could handle their 1,000 subscribers, that would help them remain PCI-compliant, and that integrated seamlessly with Shopify.

In the past, Grubbly Farms felt limited in what control they could offer around their subscriptions, as the subscription tool they had been using had no capabilities around pausing or editing subscriptions. This also created a lot of administrative work each time a customer wanted to increase, decrease, pause, or resume their subscriptions. Moving forward, they wanted a subscription tool that put more power in the hands of customers for self-service around subscriptions.

It was also important for Grubbly Farms to find a resource that had a back-end that could be customized through the API—but that existed within a single portal for customers. This would allow them to integrate important business tools like those for their their loyalty and referral programs.

Results

After the Grubbly Farms developers decided that ReCharge was the best option for their subscription billing needs, they worked closely with the team at ReCharge for a step-by-step migration walk-through so that the data transfer happened easily and seamlessly. Overall, the migration went smoothly and the ReCharge team was right by their side for help throughout the process.
